The St. Anne Altar Society was formed in 1975.
The first by-laws developed stated that the primary purpose
of the Altar Society was to promote the spiritual welfare of
the parish, caring for, and beautifying the Church in general
and the Sanctuary in particular.  Another primary purpose
was to take care of the Altar by supplying the bread and wine
for consecration at Mass.

Since 1975, the St. Anne Altar Society’s mission and goals
have expanded to include the preparation and service of meals
for families upon the death of a loved one.  This can be at the
Church in one of the two facilities with a kitchen or it can be taken to the family’s home if desired.  The St. Anne Altar Society still furnishes the bread and wine.  They also furnish the altar linens used in the celebration of the Mass and launder the same.  In 2007, the Altar Society began furnishing fabric for Altar Cloths and vestments for priests and deacons being made by an Altar Society member.

Due to the Church of the Annunciation not having a social club, the St. Anne Altar Society prepares the food and decorates for many social events for the parish.  They also prepare the food and serve at the Senior Scholarship Brunch sponsored by the Men’s Club.

The St. Anne Altar Society is open to all ladies of the parish.  Meetings are held the on second Tuesday evening of each month, except during the month of December when our annual Christmas party is held for all ladies of the parish.  Dues are $5.00 for the year, beginning in January.
